Dr. Héctor A. Ruiz
Conference: "Lignocellulosic and algal biomass biorefinery for biobased chemicals and bioenergy conversion" Noviembre 6, 9:40 h (UTC -6) Dr. Ruiz is editor-in-chief of the international indexed journal BioEnergy Research Journal (Springer), editorial member of the Bioresource Technology and Industrial Crops and Products journals published by Elsevier; he is also editor of the international book: Hydrothermal processing in Biorefineries published by Springer. He is currently a professor-researcher, founder and leader of the biorefinery group in the “Facultad de Ciencias Químicas” (School of Chemical Sciences) of the UAdeC since 2013. He is a member of the “Sistema Nacional de Investigadores” (National System of Researchers) Level 2; regular member of the “Academia Mexicana de Ciencias” Mexican Academy of Sciences; and member of the “Academia de Ingeniería” Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded several prizes, such as the “Premio Nacional de Investigación para Científicos Jóvenes” (National Research Award for Young Scientists) in the area of Engineering and Technology of the “Academia Mexicana de Ciencias” (Mexican Academy of Sciences) 2021; Mexican Prize "Dr. Carlos Casas Campillo" of the Sociedad Mexicana de Biotecnología y Bioingeniería (Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering), 2016; he was awarded the “Joven Científico” (Young Scientist) Award by the UAdeC in 2019. He was recognized as one of the most cited and influential researchers in the area of biotechnology (Top 2% in the world) within the Stanford University report and published by Elsevier BV, 2021 and 2022. He received theResearcher of the Year 2022 award from UAdeC; and in the same year he was granted the International Forum on Industrial Bioprocesses (IBA-IFIBiop) Young Investigator 2021 award in India. Dr. Ruiz works on the development of lignocellulosic (agro-industrial waste) and aquatic (algae) biomass biorefineries for the production of biofuels and industrial compounds. He is author and co-author of 92 papers in indexed journals and 33 book chapters, has an H index of 41 and 35 (Google Scholar and Scopus) and a citation count of over 5,400 and 3,900 respectively. |
Prof./Dr. Yaqian Zhao
Conference: "Purifying wastewater while generating electricity via eco-electro-constructed wetland" Noviembre 7, 18:00 h (UTC -6) Prof./Dr. Yaqian Zhao is a Fellow member of IWA (Int. Wat. Assoc.) and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Municipal and Environmental Engineering, Xi’an University of Technology, China, since Jan. 2019 while he was a faculty member in University College Dublin, Ireland, from 2004 to 2018. He completed Ph.D. at University of Strathclyde in Scotland and Postdoc at Queen’s University of Belfast in Northern Ireland. His research interests are among the areas of constructed wetlands, nutrients removal, sludge conditioning, dewatering and beneficial reuses. He is an active researcher in international level and a world leading expert of constructed wetland for wastewater treatment. He is one of the founder members of “Waste and Biomass Valorization” (Springer) and served as associate editor or editorial board members of 9 international journals. He has published over 400 research papers while delivering near 100 talks in various international conferences. In 2021, he received the “Shamrock Environmental Awards” in Ireland. He is among the top 100,000 world scientists (all subjects) ranked 39,558 (http://www.globalauthorid.com/), while he is ranked in 5th in Environmental Science and 15th in Engineering and Technology in Irish Top Scientists in 2022 (http://www.research.com). |
